CULTURAL DAY INTERNATIONAL TESOL CONFERENCE UKI 70.

International TESOL Conference UKI 70 finished its program with the cultural day to TMII. The cultural day was held on Friday, November 17, 2023. 

The first stop at Karimata Indonesian Restaurant, which serves all types of Indonesian cuisine. Patin Fish become popular for its delicious taste in the midst of our International guests. Right after lunch at Karimata Indonesia Restaurant, we went to visit Taman Anggrek Indonesia Permai to see the beauty of Indonesian Flora. When we arrived at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, the guide guided us to the Indonesian Museum. The guide explained the history of Indonesia and its magnificent culture through the Indonesian map, statues, masks, and all traditional kinds of stuff from various regions in Indonesia.

At Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, we visited some beautiful places, namely:

1. West Sumatera traditional house. West Sumatera is one of the regions from Indonesia situated in the western Indonesia. This traditional house is called ‘Rumah Gadang’.

2. Papua traditional house. A traditional house from Papua called the ‘Hanoi’ house.

3. West Kalimantan traditional house. West Kalimantan is one of the regions of Indonesia. This traditional house of West Kalimantan is called ‘Betang Radakng’.

4. South Sulawesi traditional house. Right after we visited West Kalimantan, we went to a South Sulawesi's traditional house called ‘Tongkonan’.

5.  Bali traditional house. After we visited West Kalimantan, we went to Bali's traditional house which is known by the locals as ‘Rumah Gapura Candi Bentar’.

At the end of the activities at the Cultural Day International TESOL Conference UKI, we went to a souvenir shop inside TMII, Frestive at Otista, East Jakarta, and Had dinner at Bakmi Golek one of the Indonesian traditional restaurant in Jakarta, Indonesia. We are really grateful for this togetherness between international participants of ITC UKI 70 and the members of UKI.
